NOTICE
USE OF RED HOOD
Trainers desirous of using a Red Hood in the parade ring and while going to the start for fractious/nervous horses may do so with the prior permission of the Stipendiary Stewards in writing.
This Hood will have to be taken off prior to loading of horses at the Starting Gates. The Starter and his team will assist in the removal of the Hood at the gates but the onus shall lie with the Trainer and his stable staff.
Permission will also need to be sought for discontinuation of use of such hood.

All horses led early to the gates will be accompanied by the declared Jockey on leaving the paddock. The same procedure will be followed even if a horse has to be led riderless to the gates.
Trainers are advised to school their charges better in this regard.

NOTICE : TRACK WORK
Trainers are hereby notified that the track timings for the Season 2025-2026 are as under :-
- On all working days - 5.00 A.M. to 7.30 A.M.
- On Sundays & Holidays - 6.00 A.M. to 7.30 A.M.
Trainers are advised to adhere to these timings unless the work is delayed due to the weather conditions.
Kindly appreciate that there are timings for RCTC Staff and other Departments as well, as such following the above timings is very essential.

NOTICE
Apprentice Jockey Allowance Structure – Season 2025-26
Please be informed that the weight allowances applicable to Apprentice Jockeys for the Season 2025–26 shall be as follows:
5 kg allowance – Until the jockey has ridden 10 winners
(Note: Apprentice jockeys claiming this allowance are not permitted to carry a whip.)
3.5 kg allowance – Until the jockey has ridden 20 winners
2.5 kg allowance – Until the jockey has ridden 30 winners
1.5 kg allowance – Until the jockey has ridden 40 winners
Upon riding 40 winners or attaining the age of 25 years, whichever is earlier, apprentice jockeys will not be entitled to claim any allowance.
Please note:
- No weight allowance may be claimed in Sweepstakes or Terms Races.
- An Apprentice shall be entitled to claim same allowance specified under Rule 100(h) throughout the day of racing as he/she was entitled to claim at the beginning of that day.

NOTICE
The Stewards, Royal Calcutta Turf Club are pleased to announce that 2-year-olds under the charge of A licensed Trainers will be granted a fodder subsidy of Rs. 5000/- per 2 yr old per month with effect from April 2025 up to November, 2025.
The following terms and conditions will be applicable :-
- Owners/Trainers desirous of availing this incentive must apply for the same to the Vice President - Racing, RCTC, latest by 31st May, 2025.
- These 2 yr olds must arrive within the RCTC premises by 30th September, 2025.
- These youngsters will have to race at RCTC up to the Racing Season 2027-28 unless they are retired from racing for any reason whatsoever.
- If an owner wishes to race these 2/3 year old horses at any other centre, permission for the same must be obtained from the Vice President - Racing and such horses must return to Kolkata after completion of the particular event/season.
- During the racing career of the above horses as stipulated in Clause 3 above, if they are transferred to the charge of a ‘B’ licensed Trainer, this subsidy shall be recovered in full from the Owner/s.
- For 2 year olds not stationed in Kolkata as on date but under the charge of ‘A’ licensed Trainers, the owner’s accounts of such horses will be credited with the subsidy amount from April 2025 only on their arrival into the RCTC premises.

The Stewards, Royal Calcutta Turf Club, are pleased to announce that :-
- The running of The Calcutta Derby Stakes (2025) (Grade I) has been re-scheduled to Friday, 17th January, 2025.
- The running of The Perin Dalal Alokananda Stakes has also been re-scheduled to Friday, 17th January, 2025. Fresh Final Forfeits for this race will fall due on Tuesday, 14th January, 2025.
Entries for the above race day will close at 10.30 A.M. on Friday, 10th January, 2025.
Please note that rest of the prospectus for 17th January, 2025 remains same as published in the Prospectus for the Calcutta Cold Weather Season 2024-2025.

It is hereby informed that in view of the stable employees of the Race Horse and Stable Employees Welfare Society being adamant in continuing with their illegal flash strike resulting in no track work for the last 5 days, the Stewards Royal Calcutta Turf Club in exercise of their powers under the RCTC Rules of Racing have decided to cancel the Calcutta Races scheduled to be held on Sunday, 12th January, 2025.
However, The Calcutta Derby Stakes 2025 (Grade I) has been postponed to a later date, should racing resume.
The inconvenience caused to all concerned is regretted.

Trainers are hereby notified that horses that have been under veterinary treatment for a long period of time/suffering from ailments affecting the running of the horse, such horses will have to be shown to the Veterinary Officer and passed fit to race before the Trainer accepts these horses to run.
The above comes into force with immediate effect.

Notice –Medication Rules
The Stewards of the Royal Calcutta Turf Club, at their meeting held on July 12, 2024, after considering the recommendations of the Veterinary Commission, Turf Authorities of India, as approved by the Chairmen, Turf Authorities of India, at their meeting held on May 11, 2024, decided to amend Rule No. 27(1)(d)(i) of the Racing Calendar (Medication Rules), which now reads as follows:

RULES GOVERNING THE ADMITTANCE OF
PERSONS TO R.C.T.C. STABLES
- Visiting Hours :
Monsoon 7.30 a.m. to 9.30 a.m.
4.00 p.m. to 7.30 p.m.
Winter 7.30 a.m. to 10.00 a.m.
4.00 p.m. to 7.30 p.m.
Cars and visitors must enter Hastings Stables by the Bakery Road gate and similarly at Race Course stable areas. Speed limit inside the Stables for all mechanically propelled vehicles 15 K.P.H. All motor bikes must be parked near the entrance gate and not proceed further ahead.
2. Owners with passes and pass-holders
Owners with passes and pass-holders will be admitted during visiting hours on production of their passes issued by the Vice President - Racing, R.C.T.C. These are valid from 1st May to 30 April in the following year.
Admission to R.C.T.C. Stables will only be granted to those in possession of Stable passes. Any visitor who wishes to enter R.C.T.C. Stables and who is not in possession of a Stable Pass, must be signed in by an Official, Owner, Trainer and in his absence by his Jemadar or Jockey. In exceptional circumstances, if an Owner has not brought his pass with him, he may be allowed to enter the Stables provided the Stable Security Staff at the gate recognize him; the Stable Register, in such circumstances, will be signed by the trainer immediately after. The names of Visitors should be entered in block capitals in addition to the signatures.
Note : From 8 a.m. on the day preceding a race day to the end of the race day in question, no visitors will be allowed to be signed in.
- Visitors
Under no other circumstances are visitors (other than owners) to be admitted to R.C.T.C. Stables until they have been signed in at the Entrance gate by the Trainer concerned. It is not permitted for the visitors to enter the Stables and to be signed in after his entry.
If an owner wishes to visit a stable at any time outside the visiting hours, he may do so if accompanied by his trainer.
If an owner wishes to take his family or friends to the stables during visiting hours, he must accompany them and legibly enter his own and their names in the visitors book which is kept at the entrance gate.
Owners passes will only be issued to persons who own or part-own a horse stabled with a licensed trainer at the R.C.T.C. stables.
4. Trainers
A trainer will be admitted at any time on production of his license issued by the Vice President - Racing, R.C.T.C.
A trainer is expected to be present at his stable during visiting hours. In circumstances which may prevent him from being present, he must arrange for his Jemadar or such other responsible employee to be left in charge of his stables in his absence.
A trainer may, however, take his wife and children into the stables at any time provided that he accompanies them and legibly enters his own and their names in the visitors book.
A trainer may take guests to the stables during visiting hours, provided that he accompanies them and legibly enters his own and their names in the visitors book.
5. Jockeys
A jockey will be admitted at any time on production of his licence issued by the Vice President - Racing, R.C.T.C.
A jockey may take his children to the stables during visiting hours provided that he legibly enters his own and their names in the visitors’ book.
6. Riding Boys and Jemadars.
A Riding Boy or Jemadar will be admitted at any time on production of his record book issued by the Vice President - Racing, R.C.T.C. Wives and families of Riding Boys or Jemadars cannot be admitted to or accommodated in the stables.
7. Syces.
Syces will be admitted at any time on production of their upto date identification cards. Syces leading horses will not be required to produce their identification cards.
New syces and those arriving from outside Calcutta who are not in possession of identification cards will be issued with a temporary disc by the Authorities until such time as identification cards are issued.
No one will be allowed to enter the stables area if they cannot produce their identification card/disc.
Wives and children of Syces shall not be admitted or accommodated in the Stables.
8. Fodder merchants etc.
A merchant will be admitted during visiting hours to communicate with trainers on production of his pass issued by the Vice President - Racing, R.C.T.C./KTSBW. These passes are valid from 1st May to 30th April in the following year.
Deliveries of fodder etc., must be made between the hours of 8.00 a.m. and 3.00 p.m. The merchant must be present when deliveries are made and for this purpose will be admitted between the above hours on production of his pass.
No deliveries of fodder etc., will be permitted on a race day.
Merchants are reminded that their passes are issued so that they may communicate with trainers and be present when deliveries are made.
Any merchant found loitering in the stables will be liable to have his pass withdrawn. Families and friend of merchants will not be admitted.
9. Employees of fodder merchants etc.
The KTSWB will issue each merchant with a number of special Admit passes which will be transferable. These passes will admit employees of a pass-holders when accompanied by the merchant from 8.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. daily, except as specified in Note in Para 2.
The merchant will be responsible for the passes and will only issued them to persons employed by him to bring fodder etc., to the stables.
The merchant will be responsible that his employees leave the stable immediately a delivery has been completed.
The merchant will be liable to have his pass withdrawn if these regulations are not strictly reserved or if the passes issued to him are found to have been used by unauthorized persons.
A pass once revoked or withdrawn will not be re-issued.
10. Barbers, Moochis, etc.
Barbers and Moochis etc., will be admitted between the hours of 8.00 a.m. and 6.00 p.m. on production of an identification card issued by The KTSBW (Except as
