SCHEME  :  DATED 1st MAY, 2019

Horses Rated 27 & above at the centre where they last raced up to the age limit of 6 years and which have placed at least 1st or 2nd, or 3rd or 4th once in the current or the just concluded season are permitted to be brought into station on an application made by the trainers to the Racing Dept.  Three year old horses which have raced at least once at any centre are also permitted to be brought in under this scheme.  Such of these horses may be purchased/ owned by local owners or out station owners.  However, local owners will have first preference in availing of the scheme.  All applications will be vetted by the Racing Dept before permission is granted.

This scheme is applicable only for ‘A’ licensed Trainers who are permitted to bring in up to 6 horses under the scheme.  The upper limit of  “racing horses” that a trainer may have under his charge continues to be 70 horses (excluding 2-year-olds) during the Calcutta Monsoon Meeting 2019 and NOT more than 60 horses (including 2-year-olds) during the Calcutta Cold Weather Season 2019-2020.

Owners, both local and outstation, will be allowed to bring NOT more than 8 horses under the scheme.  Please note that a share in a horse will be considered as ownership of “one animal”.

Horses granted permission to be brought under this Scheme may arrive in station immediately and will be allowed to participate in races from the forthcoming Calcutta Monsoon Meeting 2019 onwards.

This supersedes this Office Notice dated 1st March, 2017.
