At the conclusion of an  enquiry held after the last race on 27th September, 2011  into the riding of Jockey B Mahesh on his mount SAMARKHAND, Jockey B Mahesh was found guilty to the charge of foul riding (Rule 161(i) in that soon after the start when in clear running he maneuvered his mount towards the rails thereby hindering the progress of CARIBBEAN QUEEN (drawn 1) and thereafter approaching the 600 metres when travelling along the rails he once again maneuvered his mount, this time ‘outwards’, to run along side CARIBBEAN QUEEN which was then making progress and carried her wide for no apparent reason.   When deciding on his penalty the Stewards took into consideration the jockey’s record, the degree of interference and decided to suspend Jockey B Mahesh from riding in races  from 7th October to 15th November, 2011 (both days inclusive) for foul riding.  He was informed of his right to appeal and was permitted to ride track work.
