AUTUMN  MEETING, FIFTH DAY, 19TH NOVEMBER, 2011

No False rails were in position

 

1st RACE (24) THE ANNATTO HANDICAP – A Handicap for Horses Rated 00-25 (About) 1400 Metres (12.15/12.15) : 9 runners

 

            Jockey Neeraj Rawal, the rider of  ROCK THE STARS, reported that his mount was inclined to run ‘outwards’  for the greater part of the race.  Tr. D Byramji was advised to take appropriate corrective measures before accepting with it again.

 

            App Mohit Singh and Tr. Jasbir Singh when afforded an opportunity to explain the running of ch g FANKAAR, the apprentice stated that he was instructed to be positioned 3rd/4th in the early stages of the race and thereafter to do his best on entering the straight.  However, despite  his efforts the gelding did not respond to his urgings during the early and middle stages of the race.  Tr. Jasbir Singh stated that he was disappointed with the running of his charge and could give no plausible explanation for its poor performance.  The gelding was impounded for veterinary and clinical examinations.  Further, App Mohit Singh when questioned  as to why he made no effort to prevent his mount from drifting ‘outwards’ while negotiating the final bend could give no reasonable answer, hence, he was fined a sum of Rs.  1,000/-

 

            The Veterinary Officer reported that SNIPER returned bleeding from both nostrils.  Tr. R Gowli was advised not to accept with his charge until certified fit by the Veterinary Officer.

 

2nd RACE (25) THE ALLODIUM PLATE – For Maiden Horses 2 years old only – To be ridden by Jockeys of Indian Nationality (About) 1100 Metres (12.45/12.47) : 7 runners

 

            CERISE (P Trevor) was fractious while being stalled thereby delaying the start of the race.   

 

            Jockey  Shailesh Shinde, the rider of MALAHIDE, reported that his mount was racing green during the early stages of the race.

 

            Jockey Vinay Jaiswal, the rider of MY SWEET LORD, reported that his mount was inclined to hang ‘inwards’ when placed under pressure during the final 400 metres of the race.

 

3rd RACE (26)  THE STAR MAGIC HANDICAP – Div I – A Handicap for Horses Rated 20-45, Rated 00-25 eligible – To be ridden by Jockeys of Indian Nationality (About) 1400 Metres (1.15/1.15) : 8 runners

 

            STALKER (App Zarar Alam) fly jumped out from the gates.

 

            An objection was lodged by  Jockey P Trevor, the rider of ARABICA placed 2nd by the Judge against Jockey Malcolm Maseyk, the rider of SHORT RADIUS placed 1st by the Judge on the grounds of “coming onto me in the final 200 metres of the race thereby I had to check my mount which came back and lost in a close finish and the interference cost me a certain race”. The Stewards after having interviewed  both the Jockeys, Stipendiary Stewards and viewing the CCTV replay of the race, unanimously resolved to up-hold the objection and ordered  the Judge’s placings to be revised as under :-

            STALKER                                           -           3RD

            I VE DONE IT                                     -           4TH

 

 

 

 

 

4th RACE (27) THE STAR MAGIC HANDICAP – Div II – A Handicap for Horses Rated 20-45, Rated 00-25 eligible – To be ridden by Jockeys of Indian Nationality (About) 1400 Metres (1.45/1.55) : 8 runners

 

            SUGAR ‘N’ SALT (Md Islam) was fractious on its way to the starting gates thereby delaying the start of the race.

 

            b c BREAK THE HABIT (Gajender Singh) which was fractious while being stalled  and was well positioned till the approaching the distance post, finished off the race at the rear.  Tr. Vikash Jaiswal was advised to keep the colt under observation and not to accept until it was capable of a better performance.

 

            MANGO DOLLY (N S Parmar) refused to raise a fluent race gallop and ran detached from the field.  In view of its performance Tr. Shyam S Habbu was informed not to accept with his charge until shown to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in a mock race.

 

            An objection was lodged by App Shezad Khan, the rider of BERNARDINO placed 3rd by the Judge against Jockey Neeraj Rawal, the rider of ADALWIN placed 1st by the Judge, on the grounds of “interference from the 200 metres, he took me out which cost me a certain race”.  The Stewards after having interviewed App Shezad Khan,  Jockey Neeraj Rawal, Stipendiary Stewards and viewing the CCTV replay of the race, by majority resolved to over-rule the objection, the Judge’s  placings remained unaltered.

 

            The Veterinary Officer reported that ADALWIN returned with a cut injury on its right hind.

 

            Jockey Salim Khan, the rider of THE GORDIAN KNOT, reported loss of his whip approaching the 1300 metres.

 

5th RACE (28) THE  RIMPUCHE HANDICAP – A Handicap for Horses Rated 40-65, Rated 20-45 eligible (About) 2000 Metres (2.15/2.31) : 6 runners

 

            DEVIL IN DISGUISE (Shailesh Shinde) and ASIAN ROCKET (C Alford)  jumped awkwardly ‘outwards’ from the gates.

 

            Passing the 600 metres LIONWOODS (Aadesh Kumar) making progress on the rails was checked by its rider and lost some ground when AVON CREEK (App Arman Khan) shifted ‘inwards’.  App Arman Khan was shown the CCTV replay of the incident and severely reprimanded for changing course when not adequately clear of the other runner.

 

6th RACE (29) THE ARCHER HANDICAP – A Handicap for Horses Rated 40-65, Rated 20-45 eligible – To be ridden by Jockeys of Indian Nationality (About)  1200 Metres (2.45/3.01) :  14 runners

 

            STRAUSS (Afzal Hossain) was fractious while being stalled.

 

            App Zarar Alam, the rider of BAYBERRY, was reprimanded for failing to improve his position between the 1000 and 600 metres of the race when he had every opportunity to do so.

 

            Jockey Shailesh Shinde, the rider of ARDENT N GRACEFUL, reported loss of his whip passing the distance post.

 

7th RACE (30) THE ELUSIVE STUDY HANDICAP – Div I -  A Handicap for Horses Rated 60-85, Rated 40-65 eligible (About) 1200 Metres (3.15/3.28) : 10 runners

 

            Soon after jumping out of the gates ABRONIA (C Alford, drawn 3) was inconvenienced when MOON STAR (S Rabbani, drawn 2) momentarily shifted ‘outwards’.

 

            Approaching the 600 metres MICHELE MARIECI (N S Parmar) was checked by its rider and lost some ground when squeezed for room due to a tightly packed field.

 

            Passing the distance post DEBONAIRE GIRL (Shailesh Shinde) drifted ‘outwards under pressure.

 

 

8th RACE (31) THE  MAYFOWL CUP -  For Horses 4 years old and over – To be ridden by Jockeys of Indian Nationality (About) 1400 Metres (3.45/3.54) : 8 runners

 

            In the final 300 metres of the race ABROATH (M F Ali Khan) made contact with REGAL CLASSIC (B Sreekanth).

 

            Jockey C Alford and Tr. Vijay Singh when afforded an opportunity to explain the poor performance of b g ARKTOUROS,  the Jockey stated that  he was unable to settle the gelding  at the head of the field in the early and middle stages of the race due to being challenged continuously during those stages by REGAL CLASSIC (B Sreekanth) and ABROATH (M F Ali Khan), this eventually had a bearing on the performance of his mount in the final 400 metres of the race.  Tr. Vijay Singh stated that he was in agreement with the assessment of the rider.  The gelding was impounded for veterinary and clinical examinations.  On examination the Veterinary Officer reported that no ailment was noticed.

 

9th RACE (32) - THE ELUSIVE STUDY HANDICAP – Div II -  A Handicap for Horses Rated 60-85, Rated 40-65 eligible (About) 1200 Metres (4.15/4.25) : 10 runners

 

            b m GOT TO GO (Neeraj Rawal) ran detached from the field.  Jockey Neeraj Rawal when afforded an opportunity to explain the running of his mount stated that the mare failed to respond to his urgings in the final 400 metres of the race.   The mare was impounded for veterinary examination and on examination by the Veterinary Officer no ailment was noticed.  In view of its performance Tr. Javed Khan was informed not to accept with his charge until shown to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in a mock race.

 

GENERAL

 

1.      Random testing for the presence of alcohol in respect of Jockeys Aadesh Kumar, B Sreekanth, App Kishen Singh, App Ajoy Roy and App Zarar Alam was carried out and found to be clear.

  1. Urine samples.  Urine samples from the following horses were taken for clinical analysis :-

DEVIL IN DISGUISE                                                  -           5th Race.

ABRONIA                                                                   -           7th Race.
