ATTACK (Irfan Ali) was fractious while being stalled.
ALPINE
COUNT (App Vikash Tamang|)
jumped awkwardly ‘outwards’ from the gates.
b m SUGAR ‘N’ SALT (M Mark) brushed against the railings
approaching the 400 metres. On examination the Sr. Veterinary Officer
reported that the mare returned with bleeding cut injury on its right stifle
and right abdomen.

Vikash Tamang, the rider of
ALPINE COUNT, was reprimanded for repeatedly looking back in the final stages
of the race.
Jockey
Irfan Ali, the rider of SECRET ATTACK was reprimanded
for allowing his mount to travel wide without cover for no
apparent reason while negotiating the final bend.
2nd RACE (9) THE ESPOIR HANDICAP - A
Handicap for Horses Rated 20-45, Rated 00-25, which have raced at least twice
in Kolkata during the Cold Weather Season 2010-2011 and not won till date – To
be ridden by Jockeys of Indian Nationality (About) 1200 Metres
(2.30/2.30) : 6 runners
FLYING
WONDER (M F Ali Khan) ran detached from the field in the early and middle stages
of the race.
Passing
the distance post FLIRTING EYE (M Mark) making its run on the outside was
inconvenienced and had to change course when AUCKLEY (Imran Khan) under
pressure drifted ‘outwards’. At a
subsequent enquiry Jockey Imran Khan was shown the
CCTV replay of the race and was fined a sum of Rs. 1,000/- for making no
attempt to maintain a straight course.
3rd RACE (10) THE CLAMP HANDICAP - A
Handicap for Horses Rated 40-65, Rated 20-45 eligible, which have raced at
least twice in Kolkata during the Cold Weather Season 2010-2011 and not won
till date (About) 1200 Metres (3.00/3.05) : 6 runners
ADAMARIS (
Jockey
B Mahesh, the rider of FOCUS, was fined a sum of Rs. 1,000/- for excessive use
of the whip (1st offence) on his mount.
4th RACE (11) THE JANGO HANDICAP – For
Maiden Horses 3 years old only – Rated 20-45, Rated 00-25 eligible (About) 1100
Metres (3.30/3.37) : 5 runners

to the commencement of the stalling of horses b g
SUPREME CONQUEROR (C Alford) reared up, dislodged its rider and bolted. Under the circumstances the gelding was
withdrawn with the permission of the Stewards before coming under Starter’s
orders.
5th RACE (12) THE REPLICATE HANDICAP – A
Handicap for Horses 5 years old and over, Rated 00-25 – To be ridden by Jockeys
of Indian Nationality (About) 1100 Metres (4.00/4.05)

DANCER (I Khan)
was fractious while being stalled.
FLAMING
LOVE (Md Imran) was slow to
begin.
Some
distance after the start OCEAN DANCER (I Khan) travelling along the rails was tightened for room
and was ‘eased back’ by its jockey.
Jockey
Russel Xaviers, the rider
of AEROPOSTALE, was reprimanded for dropping his hands before passing the
winning post.
6th RACE (13) THE CITI LIMITS TROPHY – A
Handicap for Horses Rated 80 & above, Rated 60-85 eligible (About) 1100 Metres (4.30/4.35) :
8 runners
ch g THUNDERING HOOVES (App Mohit Singh) was very fractious and despite repeated
attempts refused to be stalled. Under
the circumstances the gelding was withdrawn with the permission of the Stewards
before coming under Starter’s orders. The
Starting Stall Certificate of the gelding has been revoked by the Starter.
Tr. Vijay Singh when
afforded an opportunity to explain the
running of his charge ch g HALL OF GLORY stated that
he had instructed the Jockey to keep the gelding “in as close a position as
possible” to the early leaders of the race.
However, he observed that the jockey after taking a good start was
unable to settle the horse in an ideal position as the gelding appeared to be
running quite keen. He further informed that similar instructions
will be given to his jockeys riding this gelding in future. Jockey C Alford when questioned stated that
he did not restrain his mount in the early and middle stages of the race as the
gelding was galloping
fiercely and therefore he allowed it to lead the field. The Stipendiary Stewards while noting the
explanations advised Tr. Vijay Singh to be more explicit while instructing his
jockeys in future.
Jockey C Alford, the rider of HALL OF GLORY, was reprimanded
for unnecessarily looking back approaching the 300 metres.
7th RACE (14) THE FAIRY HEIGHTS HANDICAP
– A Handicap for Horses Rated 20-45,
Rated 00-25 eligible – To be ridden by Jockeys of Indian Nationality (About)
1000 Metres (5.00/5.05) : 12 runners
BEETHOVEN
(App Rajesh Ujgare) was slow to begin.
PROMISED
GLORY (I Khan) jumped awkwardly ‘outwards’ losing some ground at the start.
PETALOID
(C Alford) which jumped awkwardly from its stall was soon after inconvenienced
by PINE VALLEY (Irfan Ali) which was carried
‘outwards’ by SARTAJ (App Mohit Singh) which also jumped
awkwardly from its stall. Thereafter
PETALOID making quick progress was checked by its jockey at the 800 metres marker to avoid clipping the heels of BADAL (App Ajoy
Roy).
Tr.
Shafiq Khan was fined a sum of Rs. 1,000/- for parading his
charge REGAL BEARING with cross nose band for which permission had not been
sought for. Subsequently the equipment
was removed before the start of the race.
