App Mohit Singh, the rider of b g SARTAJ, when afforded an opportunity to explain the running of his mount stated that he was instructed to be positioned 3rd/4th in the early stages of the race and thereafter to do his best.  However, in spite of his best efforts in the early stages he was unable to place his mount as instructed due to the gelding failing to respond adequately.  The Stipendiary Stewards noted his explanation.

Jockey Pradeep Kumar, the rider of SHES LIKE THE WIND, reported that his right stirrup iron broke approaching the 800 metres, as such he was unable to ride his mount to complete advantage and consequently finished off the race detached from the field.  On examination it was revealed that the equipment was otherwise well maintained as such no action was taken.

The Stipendiary Stewards held an enquiry into the tardy start of  b g STALKER (App Vikash Tamang, drawn 1) and interviewed Tr. Patrick Quinn, App Vikash Tamang and his master Tr. Rodrigues Jr.  Mr. Patrick Quinn stated that he was displeased with the riding of the apprentice in so far as the start of the race was concerned and the subsequent wide negotiation of the bend by his charge.  Tr. Rodrigues Jr. informed the Stipendiary Stewards that he will not be permitting the apprentice to ride this gelding again as there had been earlier complaints by the concerned trainer against the apprentice whenever he rode the gelding.  App Vikash Tamang stated that he was instructed to be positioned 4th/5th in the early stages of the race and it was for this reason he restrained his horse momentarily at the start and concluded by stating that thereafter despite his best efforts in the early stages the gelding did not adequately respond.  The Stipendiary Stewards informed App Vikash Tamang that he must make every sincere effort to improve his understanding of race riding and once again advised him to report to Mr. N Bird, the Jockey Coach for appropriate  corrective measures.
