False rails were in position from about 1200 metres to about 400 metres.

1st RACE (16) THE ALCALDE HANDICAP – A Handicap for Horses Rated 00-25 (About) 1600 Metres (12.45/12.45) : 8 runners

 

            OCEAN ELEMENT (M F Ali Khan) was slow to begin.

 

Approaching the final bend AGNATION (Surjeet Singh) travelling on the rails was squeezed for room and lost some ground due to a tightly packed field.  

 

Jockey M Maseyk, the rider of HARNESS FREE, was reprimanded for unnecessarily calling out (shouting) between the 800 and 400 metres of the race.

 

2nd RACE (17) THE HEAD HUNTER HANDICAP – A Handicap for Horses Rated 00-25 (About) 1100 Metres (1.15/1.15) : 9 runners

 

            b f ADIYNARA (C Alford) which was very fractious in its stall, jumped awkwardly ‘outwards’ and thereafter kept an erratic course during the initial 50 metres of the race.  Further passing the distance post the filly threw its head up and momentarily unbalanced its rider. Tr Vijay Singh was advised to get his charge checked by the Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again.

 

            RIVER LASS (M F Ali Khan) was slow to begin losing considerable ground at the start.  The Starting Stall Certificate of the mare has been revoked by the Starter.

 

            EXPLORER’S QUEST  (App Arman Khan) was slow to begin.

 

            Approaching the distance post EMERALD QUEEN (App J K Prasad) under pressure swerved to the outer portion of the race track.

 

            The Veterinary Officer reported that RIVER LASS returned bleeding from both nostrils.  Tr. Bharath Singh was informed not to accept with his charge until certified fit by the Veterinary Officer.

 

3rd RACE (18) THE ANATOLIA HANDICAP DIV I – A Handicap for Horses Rated 20-45, Rated 00-25 eligible – To be ridden by Jockeys of Indian Nationality (About) 1200 Metres (1.45/1.48) :  8 runners

 

            PINE VALLEY (Vinay Jaiswal), KINGSTON (App Arman Khan) and SADDLERS PRIDE (App Mohit Singh) were fractious while being stalled thereby delaying the start of the race.

 

Some distance after the start ACCOMPLISHED (Md Islam) was inconvenienced when KINGSTON (App Arman Khan) shifted ‘outwards’ due to a tightly packed field.

 

            SADDLERS PRIDE (App Mohit Singh) drifted to the outer portion of the race track in the final stages of the race.

 

4th RACE (19) THE ANATOLIA HANDICAP DIV II – A Handicap for Horses Rated 20-45, Rated 00-25 eligible – To be ridden by Jockeys of Indian Nationality (About) 1200 Metres (2.15/2.16) :  8 runners

 

GOLDEN SQUARE (M Maseyk) was fractious while being stalled.

 

GENEROSITY (S Domingo) which was slow to begin trailed the field in the early part of the race.  In view of its performance Tr. Javed Khan was informed not to accept with his charge until shown to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in a mock race.

 

5th RACE (20) THE AFFLICTION HANDICAP – A Handicap for Horses Rated 40-65, Rated 20-45 eligible, which were stationed in Kolkata as on 12.07.2011 – To be ridden by Jockeys of Indian Nationality (About) 1100 Metres (2.45/2.50) :  10 runners

 

            br c PETALOID (C Alford) injured itself when fractious in its stall. Under the circumstances the colt was withdrawn on veterinary grounds before coming under Starter’s orders.  Tr. Vijay Singh was advised to give his charge adequate gate practice and to get it passed fit by the Veterinary Officer before accepting with it again.

 

            Approaching the 900 metres, in a tightly packed field KINSHASA(App Arman Khan) and OCEAN CLIPPER(M F Ali Khan) travelling on the far side were inconvenienced when CEE FOUR (App Zarar Alam) momentarily shifted outwards.

 

b g AFLATOON (Afzal Khan) making an appearance after a seven month’s lay off ran detached from the field.  Tr. Shafiq Khan was advised not to accept with the gelding until it was capable of a better performance.

 

            The Veterinary Officer reported that ACCARDO returned bleeding from both nostrils.  Tr. Vikash Jaiswal was informed not to accept with his charge until certified fit by the Veterinary Officer.

 

6th RACE (21) THE ALKANET HANDICAP – A Handicap for Horses Rated 20-45, Rated 00-25 eligible – To be ridden by Jockeys of Indian Nationality (About) 1400 Metres (3.15/3.21) : 14 runners

 

Mr Bharath Singh when afforded an opportunity to explain the performance of his charge ch f OAKDALE, the winner of this race, as compared to its previous run in Race No. 110 of the Monsoon Meeting 2011 run on 24th September 2011, stated that the filly appeared to prefer the conditions of the winter track and the prevailing climate as compared to that of the Monsoon Track and the then humid conditions. The Stipendiary Stewards while noting his explanations informed the trainer that he must make every effort to ensure that his charges perform with a degree of consistency between runs.

 

7th RACE (22) THE HORENDRO KRISTO DUTT MEMORIAL TROPHY – A Handicap for Horses Rated 60-85, Rated 40-65 eligible (About) 1600 Metres (3.45/3.50) : 8 runners

 

            CAIRNDHU (Md Imran), ROCKET BALL (App Arman Khan) and TINTORETTO (B Gurang) which were slow to begin received various degrees of interference when AAMAR KAKU (S Sunil) shifted inwards.

As the incident was accidental, no further action was taken beyond cautioning Jockey S Sunil to be more careful in future and advised him to report to Jockey Coach Mr N Bird for appropriate corrective measures.

 

            Passing the 1000 metre marker LUNAR QUEST (Shailesh Shinde) which was racing fiercely shifted ‘outwards’ when restrained by its rider thereby inconveniencing AAMAR KAKU (S Sunil). At a subsequent enquiry, Jockey Shailesh Shinde was shown the CCTV replay and was advised to exercise greater control over his mounts in future.

 

            Jockey Md. Imran, the rider of CAIRNDHU, reported loss of whip approaching the distance post.

 

8th RACE (23) THE  ASTRIDE HANDICAP – A Handicap for Horses Rated 40-65, Rated 20-45 eligible (About) 1600 Metres (4.15/4.18) : 9 runners

 

            FLAMINGO FANTASY (App Arman Khan) was slow to begin.

 

Jockey A Sandesh, the rider of COMBINED OPERATION was fined a sum of Rs. 1000/- for excessive use of the whip. (First Offence)

 

            Urine sample from b f ANDROMACHE, the winner of the race, was taken for clinical analysis.

G E N E R A L

 

Random testing for the presence of alcohol in respect of Jockeys Shailesh Shinde, M Maseyk, App J K Prasad and A Sandesh was carried out and found to be clear.
