False rails were in position from about 1200 metres to about 400 metres.

 

1st RACE (109) THE ASSERTIVE DANCER HANDICAP – A Handicap for Horses Rated 40-65, Rated 20-45 eligible (About) 1400 Metres (12.45/12.45) : 4 runners

 

                AIRLEAS  (Neeraj Rawal) was fractious while being stalled.

 

                Approaching the 400 metres BEETHOVEN (Md. Shabbani) drifted to the outer portion of the race track.  Tr. Shafiq Khan was advised to take appropriate corrective measures before accepting with it again.

 

2nd RACE (110) THE FAVOURABLE RETURNS HANDICAP – A Handicap for Horses Rated 00-25 – To be ridden by Jockeys of Indian Nationality (About) 1400 Metres (1.15/1.16) : 14 runners

 

                NATIONAL QUEEN (A M Tograllu) was fractious while being stalled.

 

                OCEAN ELEMENT (S Rabbani) was slow to begin.

 

                ZAKIYAH (Afzal Khan) ran detached from the field in the middle and concluding stages of the race.  In view of its performance Tr. Sarfaraz Khan was informed not to accept with his charge until shown to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in a mock race.

 

                The Veterinary Officer reported that BAILAMOS returned bleeding from both nostrils.  Tr. Rodrigues Jr. was informed not to accept with his charge until certified fit by the Veterinary Officer.

 

                The Veterinary Officer reported that LET HER DANCE and NATIONAL QUEEN returned with cut injuries on their right and left hinds respectively.

 

3rd RACE (111) THE ARTWORK HANDICAP – A Handicap for Horses 5 years old and over, Rated 20-45, Rated 00-25 eligible – To be ridden by Jockeys of Indian Nationality (About) 1400 Metres (1.45/1.45) : 12 runners

 

                LEONIDAS (Gajender Singh) was slow to begin losing approximately two lengths at the start.

 

                GORSHKOV (Neeraj Rawal) was slow to begin and was observed to  be inclined to run ‘outwards’ throughout the race.  Tr. C Gleich was advised to take adequate corrective measures before accepting with it again.

 

                The Stipendiary Stewards held an enquiry immediately after the race with particular reference to the fall of App Zarar Alam from his mount THE GORDIAN KNOT soon after the start was effected.    At the conclusion of the enquiry the Stipendiary Stewards were satisfied that the fall was accidental and as such ordered that the ‘all clear’ signal be hoisted. 

 

The Starting Stall Certificate of b m THE GORDIAN KNOT (App Zarar Alam) which was fractious  in its stall has been revoked by the Starter.

 

4th RACE (112) THE ACCEPTOR HANDICAP – Div I – A Handicap for Horses Rated 20-45, Rated 00-25 eligible, which were stationed in Kolkata as on 12.07.2011 – To be ridden by Jockeys of Indian Nationality (About) 1100 Metres (2.15/2.21) : 11 runners

 

                SOCIAL NETWORK (C Alford) was fractious while being stalled thereby delaying the start of the race.

 

                ACCOAST (Afzal Khan) was very fractious in its stall.  In view of its behaviour Tr. R Gowli was informed not to accept with his charge until shown to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in a mock race.

 

                SECRET GALLOP (App Ankit Kumar) was slow to begin losing approximately two lengths at the start.

 

5th RACE (113) THE ACCEPTOR HANDICAP – Div II – A Handicap for Horses Rated 20-45, Rated 00-25 eligible, which were stationed in Kolkata as on 12.07.2011 – To be ridden by Jockeys of Indian Nationality (About) 1100 Metres (2.45/2.48) : 9 runners

 

                b f FLIGHTNING was very fractious and injured itself in the saddling enclosure.  Under the circumstances the filly was permitted to be withdrawn on veterinary grounds.  Tr. Vikash Jaiswal was informed not to accept with his charge until certified fit by the Veterinary Officer.

 

                ALL THAT JAZZ (Aadesh Kumar) was fractious while being stalled.

 

                BLUE MOUNTAIN (Gajender Singh) was slow to begin.

 

                FANKAAR (M Maseyk) drifted to the outer portion of the race track approaching the 400 metres.  Tr. Jasbir Singh was advised to take appropriate corrective measures before accepting with his charge again.

 

6th RACE (114) THE ALOKANANDA STAKES – For Fillies 3 years old only (About) 1200 Metres (3.15/3.15) : 8 runners

 

                CERISE (P Trevor) was fractious while being stalled.

 

                CALYPSO GIRL (App Mohit Singh) was fractious in its stall.

 

                GEORGEOUS (C Alford) under pressure drifted to the outer portion of the race track passing the distance post.

 

7th RACE (115) THE RWITC TROPHY – A Handicap for Horses Rated 80 & above, Rated 60-85 eligible (About) 1400 Metres (3.45/3.45) : 11 runners

 

                At the request of Tr. I Sait, ch m SILVER SANDS was examined by the Veterinary Officer prior to the jockey being ‘weighed-out’ and found to be lame on left fore.  Under the circumstances the mare was withdrawn on veterinary grounds.  Tr. I Sait was informed not to accept with his charge until certified fit by the Veterinary Officer.

 

                AMOURESQUE (A Sandesh) and CON ARTISTE (P Trevor) were fractious while being stalled.

 

                ROYAL DANCE (A M Tograllu) was slow to begin.

 

8th RACE (116) THE ALLAYING HANDICAP – A Handicap for Horses Rated 40-65, Rated 20-45 eligible, which were stationed in Kolkata as on 12.07.2011 (About) 1100 Metres (4.15/4.15) : 9 runners

 

                App Mohit Singh when afforded an opportunity to explain the running of his mount b m NAUGHTY LASS which ran detached from the field in the concluding stages of the race, stated that his mount was not galloping fluently and under the circumstances he eased his mount down.  Tr. Shafiq Khan was advised to get his charge examined by the Veterinary Officer and report ailment, if any.  He was also advised not to accept with his charge until passed fit by the Stipendiary Stewards in a three furlong speed trial during the hours of morning track work.

 

                BLUE GRASS (C Alford) was carried wide without cover while rounding the bend by STORMETTE (App Zarar Alam).

 

G E N E R A L

 

1.                   Random testing for the presence of alcohol in respect of Jockeys N S Parmar,  A Sandesh, App Mohit Singh and App Vikash Tamang was carried out and found to be clear.

 

2.                   Jockey Neeraj Rawal was fined a sum of Rs. 2,500/- for repeatedly presenting himself late to the Clerk of the Scales at the time of ‘weighing-out’.

 

 

2.                   Urine samples.  Urine samples from the following horses were taken for clinical analysis :-

 

LET HER DANCE and AB IST OMEN                                                          -               2nd Race.

4.                   On the morning of Sunday, 8th January, 2012, VENCE was examined by the Veterinary Officer and found to be stiff on hind quarters.  Tr. Javed Khan was informed not to accept with his charge until certified fit by the Veterinary Officer.
