CALCUTTA RACES

AUTUMN  MEETING, THIRD DAY, SUNDAY, 6TH  NOVEMBER, 2011

 

1st RACE (10) THE FREEDOM DANCER HANDICAP –  A Handicap for horses Rated 00-25 which were stationed in Kolkata as on 12.07.11 – To be ridden by Jockeys of Indian Nationality (About) 1200 Metres (1.30/1.32) : 6 runners

Trainer Vijay Singh was fined a sum of Rs. 1,000/- for presenting his horse MELODY BELLE late to the parade ring.  He was also fined a sum of Rs. 375/- for failing to present the registered colours at the scales in respect to his charge MELODY BELLE.

 

MELODY BELLE(C Alford) planted losing considerable ground at the start.  In view of its performance, the Starting Stall Certificate has been revoked by the Starter.

 

2nd RACE (11) THE SUPREME PRINCESS HANDICAP – A Handicap for Horses Rated 20-45, Rated 00-25 eligible.  To be ridden by Jockeys of Indian Nationality (About) 1600 Metres (2.00/2.01) : 8 runners

           

ALEXANDER HELIOS(Shailesh Shinde) planted losing considerable ground at start.  In view of its performance, the Starting Stall Certificate has been revoked by the Starter.

 

App Arman Khan, the rider of dk b g OCEAN DANCER was fined a sum of Rs. 5,000/- for failing to infuse adequate vigour to his riding in the final 400 metres of the race. He was further informed that repetition of a similar manner of riding would entail him being reported to the Stewards for appropriate action. Mr D M David, the trainer of the gelding was advised to ensure that his charges run and are ridden in such manner that leave no room for query.

 

App Md. Sameer, the rider of LOCAL WARRIOR was fined a sum of Rs. 1000/- for excess use of the whip (1st Offence).

           

3rd RACE( 12) THE MINISTERIAL HANDICAP – A Handicap for Horses Rated 20-45, Rated 00-25 eligible which were stationed in Kolkata as on 12.07.11 – To be ridden by Jockeys of Indian Nationality (About) 1200 Metres (2.30/2.31) : 11 runners

           

 Approaching the distance post ROMANTIC LAD(Surjeet Singh) making progress on the outside received some interference when MISTY ISLES(C Alford) shifted outwards. At a subsequent enquiry Jockey C. Alford pleaded guilty to careless riding and was fined a sum of Rs. 2,500/- for shifting ground when not adequately clear of the other runner.

 

4th RACE (13) THE CALLISTO HANDICAP – A Handicap for Horses Rated 40-65, Rated 20-45 eligible, (About) 1200 Metres (3.00/3.00) : 11 runners

           

Trainer R.V. Gowli was fined a sum Rs. 375/- for failing to present the registered colours at the scale in respect of his charge GOLIATH.

 

ENTREPRENEUR(Malcolm Maseyk) and WHISTLING STRAIT(Neeraj Rawal) were fractious in their respective stalls.

 

SUMANGALA(Gajender Singh) was carried wide without cover while negotiating the bend.

 

Jockey Salim Khan the rider of SWISS KING was reprimanded for not making sufficient effort to keep his mount on an even course while rounding the bend.

 

5th RACE (14) THE HILLIARD TROPHY – A Handicap for Horses Rated 80 & above, Rated 60-85 eligible (About) 1400 Metres (3.30/3.30) : 11 runners

 

NIL

 

6th RACE (15) THE ADDERLY HANDICAP – A Handicap for Horses Rated 60-85 Rated 40-65 eligible (About) 1400 Metres (4.00/4.05) : 10 runners

 

ASHRIDGE(P Trevor), QUEEN VIC(Shezad Khan) and ROCKET BALL(Arman Khan) were slow to begin.

 

Approaching the 900 metres JUNO(Mohit Singh) repeatedly brushed against the false railing.

 

G E N E R A L

 

  1. Random testing for the presence of alcohol in respect of Jockeys Salim Khan, N S Parmar, Neeraj Rawal and App Arman Khan was carried out and found to be clear.

 

  1. Urine samples.  Urine samples from the following horses were taken for clinical analysis :-

 

REAMS OF GOLD                                          - 1st Race

HALL OF GLORY                                          - 5th Race

AMOURESQUE                                              - 5th Race

 

  1. On the morning of Monday 7th November 2011, the Sr Veterinary Officer reported as under:

a.       BEST BET – Lame on left fore

b.      EBONY PRINCESS – Lame on right fore.

           

Trainers Bharath Singh & R V Gowli have been advised not to accept with their charges unless passed fit by the Veterinary Officer.
