1st RACE (72) THE ARTHUR B HANDICAP – A
Handicap for Horses Rated 00-25 – To be ridden by Jockeys of Indian Nationality
(About) 1200 Metres (1.30/1.35) : 12 runners
INCANTATION (Deep Shanker) which was
very fractious in its stall jumped out awkwardly and dislodged its rider. In view of its behaviour Tr. Vikash Jaiswal
was informed not to accept with his charge until passed fit in a barrier trial
during the hours of morning track work.

2nd RACE (73) THE SERMON HANDICAP DIV I -
A Handicap for Horses Rated 20 – 45,
Rated 00-25 eligible – To be ridden by Jockeys of Indian Nationality
(About) 1000 Metres (2.00/2.05) : 6 runners
b f KAYADHU
(Haroon Khan) and dk b f ALL THAT JAZZ (Vinay Jaiswal) were very fractious, repeatedly
kicked the rear gates and in the process sustained injuries on their both
hinds. Under the circumstances the
fillies were withdrawn with the permission of the Stewards before coming under
Starter’s orders. The Starting Stall
Certificates of KAYADHU and ALL THAT JAZZ have been revoked by the
Starter. Trs. Jasbir Singh and C Gleich
have been informed not to accept with their respective charges until certified
fit by the Sr. Veterinary Officer.
STAR WAGER (M Maseyk) which was
fractious in its stall ran detached from the field. In view of its behavior Tr. Bharath Singh was
informed not to accept with his charge until passed fit in a barrier trial
during the hours of morning track work.
Jockey Surjeet Singh, the rider of
BENJAMIN, reported that he lost his whip approaching the 100 metres.
3rd RACE (74) THE SERMON HANDICAP DIV II
- A Handicap for Horses Rated 20 – 45,
Rated 00-25 eligible – To be ridden by Jockeys of Indian Nationality
(About) 1000 Metres (2.30/2.32) : 8 runners
RITHAMBHRA (App Mohit Singh) jumped
awkwardly from the gates.
STALKER (App Vikash Tamang) was slow
to begin losing approximately 2 lengths at the start and thereafter was
observed in the early and middle stages of the race to be running detached from
the field. At a subsequent enquiry App Vikash
Tamang was shown the CCTV replay of the race and fined a sum of Rs. 2,000/- for
not being alert at the start and for failing to improve his position when he
had every opportunity to do so. The
apprentice was further informed that in future should he ride in a similar manner he would be
reported to the Stewards for appropriate action.
App Mohit Singh, the rider of RITHAMBHRA,
which drifted to the outer portion of the race track passing the distance post was reprimanded for dropping his hands before passing
the winning post.
4th RACE (75) THE AREZZO HANDICAP – A
Handicap for Horses Rated 40-65, Rated 20-45 eligible (About) 1400 Metres (3.00/3.02) : 6 runners

DESERT IMAGE which ran detached from the field was fined a sum of Rs. 1,000/-
for excessive use of the whip (1st offence) and a further sum of Rs.
1,000/- for the use of the whip on his mount when it was clearly out of
contention. In view of the gelding’s performance, Tr. D M
David was informed not to accept with his charge until shown to the
satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in a mock race.
5th RACE (76) THE VIBRANT HANDICAP - A Handicap for Horses Rated 20 – 45, Rated 00-25 eligible – To be ridden by
Jockeys of Indian Nationality (About) 1400 Metres (3.30/3.30) : 9 runners
GIRL OF FLOWERS (Surjeet Singh) was
slow to begin.
Jockey C Alford when afforded an
opportunity to explain the running of his
mount ch f ROMANTIC SUNSET stated that he was instructed to place his mount in
a forward position and thereafter on entering the straight to do his best. These instructions he was able to follow till
approaching the 500 metres marker and thereafter despite his efforts the filly
failed to respond and finished off the race at the rear of the field. The trainer corroborated the statements of the
jockey and could give no plausible explanation for its poor performance. The filly was impounded for veterinary and
analytical examinations. On examination
the Sr. Veterinary Officer reported that no ailment was noticed. Tr. Vijay Singh was informed to keep his
charge under observation and report ailment, if any, and not to accept with his charge until it was
capable of a better performance.
6th RACE (77) THE ALORITZ HANDICAP – A
Handicap for Horses Rated 60-85, Rated 40-65 eligible (About) 1200 Metres
(4.00/4.02) : 9 runners
At the request of Tr. Vijay Singh, b
c AGENT ARCHIE a declared starter in the above race, was examined by the Sr.
Veterinary Officer on the morning of Tuesday, 6th September 2011 and
found to be lame on its left fore. Under
the circumstances the colt was withdrawn on veterinary grounds. Tr. Vijay Singh was informed not to accept
with his charge until certified fit by the Veterinary Officer.
HIGHLAND PRINCE (Sk Israil) jumped
awkwardly from the gates.
ADAMARIS (Deep Shanker) and ROYAL
SAGA (App Ajoy Roy) brushed against each other passing the winning post.
The Veterinary Officer reported that
b g CAMEO returned bleeding from both nostrils.
Tr. D Karki was informed not to accept with his charge until certified
fit by the Veterinary Officer.
7th RACE (78) THE TANGIERS TROPHY - For Horses 4 years old and over (About)
1800 Metres (4.30/4.30) : 6 runners
RAZMADEN (Shailesh Shinde) was slow to begin.
8th RACE (79) THE ZIP OFF HANDICAP – For
Maiden Horses 3 years old only – Rated 20-45, Rated 00-25 eligible (About) 1100
Metres (5.00/5.00) : 12 runners
Jockey Pintu Das, the rider of ROMANTIC
LAD (drawn 1) which was slow to begin was severely reprimanded for shifting
course ‘outwards’ soon after jumping out of the gates when there was sufficient
room to make progress along the rails and thereafter for travelling wide for no
apparent reason while rounding the bend.
The jockey was further informed that should he ride in a similar manner
in future, he would be dealt with appropriately.
b f CANDLE IN THE WIND (Ryan
Marshall) ran detached from the field.
The jockey when afforded an opportunity to explain the running of his
mount stated that in spite of his best efforts the filly was not responding to
his urgings in the early and middle stages of the race. At a subsequent veterinary examination, the
Veterinary Officer reported that the filly was observed to be lame on its left
fore. Tr. Bharath Singh was informed not
to accept with his charge until certified fit by the Veterinary Officer.
