CHRISTMAS MEETING, EXTRA DAY, SUNDAY, 4TH DECEMBER, 2011

Penetrometer Reading : 1.4 Cms  : Good Going.

False rails were in position from about 1200 metres to about 400 metres.

1st RACE (50) THE REMINISCENT PLATE – For Horses 2 years old only (About)  1200 Metres (12.45/12.45) :  5 runners

            ZIP ZAP ZOOM (M F Ali Khan) was fractious in its stall.

            SUNNY SUE (Shailesh Shinde) fly jumped out of the gates.

            ARANEDA (C Alford, drawn 2) on jumping out of the gates swerved ‘outwards’ inconveniencing CIDER WITH ROSIE (N S Parmar, drawn 3) and SUNNY SUE (Shailesh Shinde, drawn 4) and thereafter raced green for the remainder of the race. 

            CIDER WITH ROSIE (N S Parmar) drifted ‘outwards’ under pressure in the final 300 metres of the race.

2nd RACE (51) THE GYPSY KING HANDICAP – A Handicap for Horses Rated 00-25 – To be ridden by Jockeys of Indian Nationality (About) 2000 Metres (1.15/1.15) : 8 runners

            KAMAKAZI (M F Ali Khan), PASSION ‘N’ FLAMES (B Mahesh) and OCEAN ELEMENT (Aadesh Kumar) were slow to begin losing approximately two lengths at the start.

            App Shezad Khan, the rider of  HARNESS FREE, was fined a sum of Rs. 1,000/- for excessive use of the whip on his mount (1st offence).

3rd RACE (52) THE BENEFICIENT HANDICAP – A Handicap for Horses Rated 00-25, which were stationed in Kolkata as on 12.07.2011 – To be ridden by Jockeys of Indian Nationality (About) 1400 Metres (1.45/1.47) : 12 runners

As App B Srinivas Rao failed to arrive  to fulfill his riding engagements, Tr. R W Alford was permitted to substitute Jockey I Khan to ride his charge HAREY PUTTER.  An enquiry has been opened into the above.

REAMS OF GOLD (App Vikash Tamang) was fractious in its stall.

CRADOC (Md. Imran) was fractious while being stalled thereby delaying the start of the race.  Tr. Bharath Singh was advised to give to his charge adequate gate practice  before accepting with it again.

            Jockey Russell Xaviers, the rider of VAANI, was reprimanded for failing to improve his position in the early and middle stages of the race.

            App Vikash Tamang, the rider of REAMS OF GOLD, was fined a sum of Rs. 1,000/- for excessive use of the whip on his mount (1st Offence).

            The Veterinary Officer reported that REAMS OF GOLD (App Vikash Tamang) returned with a cut injury on its mouth.

4th RACE (53) THE  APPROVED HANDICAP - A Handicap for Horses Rated 20-45, Rated 00-25 – To be ridden by Jockeys of Indian Nationality (About) 1400 Metres (2.15/2.16) : 6 runners

            An objection was lodged by Jockey N S Parmar, the rider of SANSKRITI placed 2nd by the Judge against App Shezad Khan, the rider of MANHATTAN RAIN placed 1st by the Judge on the grounds of  “taking me out when my filly was full of running and because of that I lost a certain race”.  The Stewards after having interviewed Jockey N S Parmar and App Shezad Khan, Stipendiary Stewards and viewing the CCTV replay of the race, unanimously resolved to over-rule the objection, the Judge’s  placings remained unaltered.

5th RACE (54) THE LOVE IS BLIND HANDICAP – A Handicap for Horses Rated 40-65, Rated 20-45 eligible which were stationed in Kolkata as on 12.07.2011 (About) 1200 Metres (2.45/2.46) : 14 runners

            GOLDEN GLOBE (Afzal Khan) planted losing considerable ground at the start and finished off the race detached from the field.  In view of its performance, Tr. H S Bath was informed not to accept with his charge until shown to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in a mock race.

            ENTREPRENEUR (M Maseyk) was slow to begin losing approximately two lengths at the start.

            Jockey Aadesh Kumar, the rider of OCEAN SUNRISE, was reprimanded for the undesirable practice of dropping his hands before passing the winning post.

            Jockey B Mahesh, the rider of XAVIER, reported the loss of his whip approaching the 300 metres.

            The Veterinary Officer reported that  AXIOLOGY returned with a cut injury on right hind.

6th RACE (55) THE HYDERABAD RACE CLUB TROPHY – A Handicap for Horses Rated 80 & above, Rated 60-85 eligible (About) 1600 Metres (3.15/3.15) :  5 runners

7th RACE (56) THE ANNELLA HANDICAP - A Handicap for Horses Rated 20-45, Rated 00-25 eligible – To be ridden by Jockeys of Indian Nationality (About) 1200 Metres  (3.45/3.45) : 12 runners

            PINE VALLEY (Vinay Jaiswal) and GOLDEN SQUARE (Russell Xaviers) were fractious while being stalled.

            PERSERVERANCE (App Arman Khan) and BLUE  MOUNTAIN (Gajender Singh) were slow to begin.

G E N E R A L

  1. Random testing for the presence of alcohol in respect of Jockeys Imran Khan, Salim Khan, App Shezad Khan and App Kishen Singh was carried out and found to be clear.
  2. Urine samples.  Urine samples from the following horses were taken for clinical analysis :-

      THE GORDIAN KNOT           -           2nd Race.

      GOLIATH                               -           5th Race.

  1. On the morning of Monday, 5th December, 2011 ENTREPRENEUR was examined by the  Veterinary Officer and found to be lame on  left fore.  Tr. J Stephens was informed not to accept with his charge until passed fit by the Veterinary Officer.
